Add your company by giving all your details like name, GST number, phone, address etc.
Q. How can i add details of the company ?
Ans. : By following steps you can add the details of the company :
Step 1: Click the ” Edit ” button on right side of the company
Step 2: Add a new one or change your bank by clicking the button “Add new”
Step 3: After filling all mandatory details and save the bank details, update your company
Handling items
Stock items are goods that you manufacture or trade (sell and purchase). It is the primary inventory entity. Stock Items in the Inventory transactions are similar to ledgers being used in accounting transactions.
Q. How can i create an item ?
Ans. : Item create by following steps :
Step 1: Go to stock and click on create button on your left side screen
Step 2: Fill all the details of the item
Step 3: Click on the “Save” button to create an item
Handling accounts
The account contains the information that is required to prepare financial statements. It includes accounts for assets, liabilities, owners’ equity, revenues and expenses
Q. How can i create different types of accounts ?
Ans. : First select the account type, then you can create a new account or can update the older one. The following steps can help you
Step 1: First go to Ledger create
Step 2: Select which type of account you want. (eg: For Sundry Creditors select Purchase)
Step 3: Fill all details like name, phone, website, address etc. then click the “Save” button to create an account.
Handling transactions
A voucher is a document that contains details of a financial transaction and is required for recording the same into the books of accounts. For every transaction, you can use the appropriate Tally voucher to enter the details into the ledgers and update the financial position of the company.
Q. What type of transactions can i do through Tallyplug and how ?
Ans. : The transactions can be such that : Sales, purchase, payment, receipt, expense, cash.
One by one it is explained below how to do the transactions :
1. Sales (to sale goods to party)
1.1 Sale transaction with bank :
Step 1: Go to voucher and click on “Create”.
Step 2: Select sale option then click on “Proceed”.
Step 3: Enter the party name and the goods. After adding you can change the rate and the quantity from the item list.
Step 4: Click on “Create” button to create the transaction.
1.2 Sale transaction with cash :
Step 1: Select to create a sale transaction with cash.
Step 2: Create the transaction by adding the party and the items. You can change the quantity and rate of the item after adding from the item list.
1.3 Sale on credit :
Step 1: Select a sale transaction on credit.
Step 2: Create the transaction by adding the party and the items. You can change the quantity and rate of the item after adding from the item list.
2. Purchase (to buy goods from party)
2.1 Purchase transaction with bank :
Step 1: Go to voucher and click on “Create”.
Step 2: Select purchase option then click on “Proceed”.
Step 3: Enter the party name and the goods. After adding you can change the rate and the quantity from the item list. Create the transaction by clicking on the button “Create”.
1.2 Purchase transaction with cash :
Step 1: Select to create a purchase transaction with cash.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the party name and items.
2.3 Purchase on credit :
Step 1: Select to create a purchase transaction on credit .
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the party name and items.
2.4 Purchase Order :
Step 1: Select to create a purchase order.
Step 2: Enter the party and the goods that are you want to order .
3. Payment (pay to anyone by bank/cash)
3.1 Payment with Bank :
Step 1: Select payment with bank then click on “Proceed”.
Step 2: Enter to whom the payment is to be made and from which bank the amount to be paid
Step 3: Click on “Create” button to create the transaction.
3.2 Payment with cash :
Step 1: Select to create a payment with cash.
Step 2: Create the payment by enter the party name and the bank with amount.
3.3 Salary payment from bank :
Step 1: Select to create a salary payment with bank.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the staff name and the amount.
3.4 Salary payment with cash :
Step 1: Select to create a salary payment with cash.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the the staff name and the amount. You can give some advance to the staff.
3.5 Advance salary payment with bank :
Step 1: Select to create a salary payment with bank.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the staff name and the advance amount.
3.6 Advance salary payment by cash :
Step 1: Select to create a staff advance salary payment by cash.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the the staff name and the amount.
4. Receipt (receipt from a party)
4.1 Cash transaction receipt :
Step 1: Go to voucher and click on “Create”
Step 2: Select receipt option the click on “Proceed”.
Step 3: Enter the bank to which the amount will come and the amount along with the name of the party
Step 4: Click on “Create” button to create the transaction.
4.2 Bank transaction receipt :
Step 1: Select to create a bank transaction receipt.
Step 2: Create the receipt with entering the party name and the amount.
5. Expenses :
5.1 Expense transaction with cash :
Step 1: Go to voucher and click on “Create”
Step 2 : Select expenses option then click on “Proceed”.
Step 3: Enter the banks and the amount.
Step 4: Click on “Create” button to create the transaction.
5.2 Expense transaction with bank :
Step 1: Select to create an expense transaction with bank.
Step 2: Create a transaction with entering the expense and the bank details with amount.
5.3 Ad hoc expense (charges that are not lesson-based) with cash :
Step 1: Select to create an ad hoc expense transaction with cash.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the expense and the amount.
5.4 Ad hoc expense transaction with bank :
Step 1: Select to create an ad hoc expense transaction with bank.
Step 2: Create the transaction by entering the expense and the amount.
6. Cash :
6.1 Cash deposit to bank :
Step 1: Go to voucher and click on “Create”
Step 2: Select cash deposit to bank option then click on “Proceed”.
Step 3: Enter the party and so enter the items to return.
Step 4: Click on “Create” button to create the transaction.
6.2 Cash withdrawal from bank :
Step 1: Select to cash withdrawal from bank.
Step 2: Enter the bank and the withdrawal amount.
Additional operations
* You can export and import the entire data to a newly created company. You have to export the masters first and then the transactions.The benefits of import excel sheet in tallyplug is :

Q. How do i import my item excel sheet ?
Ans. :
Step 1: Go to import of stock .
Step 2: Download sample by click the “Sample” button to know the format how to fill item details in excel sheet.
Step 3: After filling all the details, upload the excel sheet by click the “Upload” button.
Step 4: Click the “Import” button to import/create the items you filled at once.
Step 5: Now go to stock listing and check all items with details
Q. How can I import bulk accounts at once ?
Ans. :
Step 1: After going to the ledger import, download the sample by clicking on the “Sample” button to know the format of the account excel sheet.
Step 2: After filling the data of the accounts in the excel sheet, upload it by clicking the “Upload” button from the ledger import.
Step 3: Click the “Import” button to import all accounts at once
Step 4: Now go to ledger listing and check all accounts with details
* To see the sale (Sundry Debtors) type accounts click on the “Sale” button.
* Click on “Purchase” button for purchase(Sundry Creditors) type accounts
* By clicking on the “Banking” button, you can see all your bank accounts and its details
Q. How to bring all the transactions which we have filled in excel sheet in a bulk in tallyplug and view their details ?
Ans. : By following these steps, you can bring the filled transactions in your excel sheet in tallyplug :
Step 1: Go to voucher import, download the format by clicking the “Sample” button and fill your transaction details in that way.
Step 2: To upload the transactions click on the “Upload” button
Step 3: Click the “Import” button to import all filled transactions
Step 4: After that, go to voucher listing
Step 5: Check all your current transactions here.
Step 6: Click the “Range” button and select the date range to see the transactions between the same dates.
Step 7: Unwanted transactions can be deleted from here by clicking the button “Delete”.
Step 8: If you accidentally delete the transaction that you need, then you can recover the deleted items by clicking the “Recover” button.

Dashboard shows every aspect of your business and lets easily track the company’s performance in sales, purchase, and financial strategies for CEOs or other executives. Have a look on this dashboards and their function :
Voucher dashboard :
Step 1: Go to voucher dashboard.
Step 2: The types of transactions in the graph are shown in colors
Step 3: On selecting the month in below, all types of transactions and their details for that month will be displayed.
Ledger dashboard :
Step 1: Go to ledger dashboard.
Step 2: Clicking on the type of transaction on the left side of top whose accounts you want will show those accounts.
Stock dashboard :
Step 1: Go to stock dashboard.
Step 2: Clicking on the type of transaction on the left side of the top whose items you want will show the groups of those items.
